Now, every time you make changes to a document in Notepad, it will automatically be saved as a *.autosave file. Type *.autosave into the File name field and click on the Save button. In the Save As dialog box, select All Files from the drop-down menu next to the Save as type field. Click on the File menu and then click on Save As.

But there is a way to enable auto-save in Windows 10 Notepad. This can be frustrating, especially if you’ve spent a lot of time working on a document only to have it all disappear because you forgot to save.
